Instructions to install web images as the Windows Wallpaper =========================================================== Click on the desired image/s and then right-click on the downloaded image. Your browser may have a "Set as Background" option. IE running on the 9X Operating System saves the file as 'C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp". You might consider renaming, moving the file to the 'WINDOWS' folder and setting it as your background. You will need to change the Background image so the file can be renamed or moved. This method will eliminate the need to do anything further. Alternate approach: =================== Right-click on the 'Save Picture As' option of the "context menu." Save the file to a temporary folder. These background images are JPG files to minimize file size and download time. They can be used 'as is' if the Active Desktop function is enabled or they should be converted to a BMP. An Image viewer like Irfanview (see www.irfanview.com) can be used for this purpose. Alternately, the Windows "Paint" program can also convert these files. Be sure to save the image as a 24-bit BMP file in the "Windows" folder and then delete the JPG file. Next, right-click on the desktop to use the 'Properties', "Background" dialog box to change to the new background file. Note: ===== These Images were made in the 800x600 pixel format. If you are using a higher resolution, use the "Background" dialog box to turn on the stretch feature. enjoy, Bob Brown http://amedia.bizhosting.com
